A Meal For A Meal was created because I like to cook and bake and didn’t need my guests to bring a dish. So, I created A Meal For A Meal. It is based on the traditional Sunday brunches many families would have after church. The desire was to have everyone pitch in to help prepare the meal, set the table, serve beverages, etc. However, over the years, each dinner is set up differently depending on the guests and needs. A picture is taken of the group and everyone signs the tablecloth. ====== The History I love cooking food with various themes or specific ethnic food and
having friends over for dinner. I enjoy bringing my friends together
to meet each other and have loved listening and watching them interact.
Because I make all of the food for the meal, I wanted to create more
of a reason to bring everyone together. And so, thanks to a friend who
thought up the name, A Meal For A Meal was created. When I invite people
over, I ask them to bring a bag of food instead of a dish to pass. For
many, it was easier then making something, just go to the grocery store
before arriving and making a simple purchase. My first dinner was five
years ago, January 2001. With my few small dinners, I have collected
over the five years 300+ bags of groceries.
